Meet Tabitha

Tabitha McIntosh is the founder of Awaken Your Health, and is a qualified and experienced Naturopath, Clinical Nutritionist, and educator, having run her own private clinical practice for over 10 years. As director and principal Naturopath at Awaken Your Health, Tabitha takes great pride in providing her clients and their families with high-quality naturopathic clinical care, in a supportive and nurturing environment.

After completing her Medical Science degree in 2001, Tabitha went on to pursue her passion for Natural Integrative Healthcare with post-graduate studies in Naturopathy, Western Herbal Medicine, Nutritional Medicine & Environmental Medicine.

She now elegantly combines the above approaches to health: integrating naturopathic healing principles with the latest scientific research, to educate and further the health and well-being of her clients.

 

Qualifications & Associations

Tabitha holds a Bachelor of Medical Science (UNSW, 2000), Advanced Diploma Naturopathy & Diploma Nutrition (Nature Care, 2005), Post Grad Dip in Nutritional & Environmental Medicine (SWIN, 2006), and Masters Degree in Reproductive Medicine, from the School of Medicine at UNSW (2023).

Being committed to continued education; she regularly attends professional seminars in Australia and Internationally to stay abreast of the latest integrative healthcare research. Tabitha is a member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society.

Tabitha is also a proud member of ACNEM (Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine) and has presented for them on a number of topics, including Protecting Fertility with Preconception Care with a focus on Environmental Medicine, and Optimising fertility outcomes for Men.

Specialising in nutritional medicine, digestive health, and reproductive health – encompassing preconception, pregnancy care, natural fertility management, miscarriage prevention, post-natal care and breastfeeding, her care and focus then follows through to infants & children’s health.

Tabitha is passionate about the wellbeing of her clients, and she works collaboratively with each client and their unique healthcare team including GP’s, Specialists, Obstetricians, Oncologists, and other allied health professionals to ensure optimal health outcomes.

Areas Of Clinical Expertise

Tabitha works with couples to improve fertility and pregnancy outcomes and is regularly referred clients undergoing Artificial Reproductive Techniques (ART) and InVitro Fertilisation (IVF) processes.

Her integrative work with cancer patients facilitates reduction of side effects of conventional treatment and empowers her clients through better nutrition to improve their outcomes.

With specialist training in Environmental Medicine, Tabitha has a particular interest in the hidden dangers of common chemicals and their impact on health recognising that the long-term health effects of daily chemical exposures are yet to be fully realised.

A particular focus of her practice is educating on chemical minimization and helping clients to build resilience against inevitable exposures.  Tabitha feels privileged to be able to inspire her clients on how to best support their individual needs as well as privileged to have the opportunity to help the health of future generations.

Professional Speaking Engagements & Corporate Talks

Tabitha is also an accomplished speaker. She has enjoyed lecturing in nutrition at Nature Care College, and is a current contract academic at Endeavour College of Natural Therapies, lecturing in nutrition and supervising final year Naturopathy students in the Student Clinic.

In 2022, Tabitha was invited to represent the Australian Naturopathic Community at the Clinical Applications of Scientific Innovation (CASI) 2022 Functional Medicine Conference in Florida, speaking alongside incredible Functional Medicine thought leaders and colleagues. Her presentation was on: Immuno-Resilience In Women’s Reproductive Health. Specifically preventing the progression of the HPV virus into Cervical cancer, and the four modern immune burdens impacting cervical and immune health.

Tabitha also presented at ACNEM in 2022 (Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine) on the topic of Protecting Fertility with Preconception Care with a focus on environmental medicine, and also Optimising Fertility Outcomes For Men.

In 2023, Tabitha presented at the Integria Practitioner Symposium, sharing clinical experience on Supportive Integrative Therapies in Oncology and Cancer Care.

She is a sought-after speaker who has appeared multiple times on Channel 9 on the Keri-Anne Morning Show and has lectured to various Corporate groups. She also tailors topics according to your organisation’s needs.
